Closing Drive 2022 & Short-mat information

That's it folks, the 2022 outdoor season is OVER.

On Sunday 3rd October we closed the 2022 outdoor season with a drive over 18 ends which had 17 participants. An awkward number which meant we had 5 triples playing 2 bowls per player and one pair who had 3 bowls each.

After 18 ends, teams E (John Lizzimore, Stuart Mackenzie and Ian Clark (s)) and F (Chris Cavanagh, Bernard Dowley and John Torr (s)) had 12 winning ends each and played a 3-end playoff which turned into 4 ends because the scores were tied (5-5) after the 3 ends. There was some very excellent bowling but in the end team F were victorious with a cracking shot by skip John Torr. A fitting last bowl to close the season. Only 209 days until the 2023 season starts!!!

DON'T FORGET!! Short-mat starts at 2pm on 11th October. Short-mat is open to all members, full and social. It'll cost you £1 for an afternoon's entertainment including a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit (or cake on a special occasion!).
