American visitors

St Chads had a visit yesterday from Jeff and Elaine Plake who reside in Texas, USA.   They are on a European tour for their 40th wedding anniversary, yesterday (10th July) was their last day in the UK and asked if they could come along and try lawn bowling, a request we were more than happy to oblige.   They had seen a few bowling greens whilst travelling around during their few days in the UK and were immediately struck with how much better our green looked to the others.

We spent just over 2 hours on the green which they very much enjoyed and they did really well, they are used to the Texas heat and didn't mind the temperature yesterday although it was more humid than they are used to.    

Before they left, we gave Jeff a St Chads club shirt as a momento of their visit to St Chads Bowling Club and a club badge each.     Lovely people and St Chads now has a 2 person American following!
