Visit to Richard House Hospice for Children

Last year we raised £1,150 for Richard House Hospice for Children (RHHfC) through a share of quiz entry monies and raffles. As a thank-you, on Wednesday 28th February a few of those who helped with the fundraising made a visit to the hospice. We were shown around the facility by Azeema and Gareth and met some of the nursing staff and volunteers who explained how the Hospice helps children (and parents and siblings) in coping with their debilitating health concerns at home and nursing when they have to come in for respite care or, sadly, end-of-life care. RHHfC has a wide catchment area from Essex to Hackney, they have 5 rooms currently which doesn't sound like a lot but they also accommodate parents staying with their sick child, they are hoping to expand their capability to 8 rooms and have started looking at fundraising towards that goal. We wish them well.

The Hospice sent us a letter of thanks which you see below and that thank you extends to everyone who contributed towards this, everyone who came to the quizzes (£1 from your entry money went to wards the charity) and took part in raffles (hampers and the Lynn Seears day). Thank you all
