The "Mats" crew

On Monday 2nd October the "mats" crew decended on St Chads Bowling Club and proceeded to removed all the gully mats, cleaning and stacking them for the winter. Here you see them (minus Bernard as he is taking this picture and Wharfie as he had to go) enjoying a well deserved cuppa in all their glory, quite a pin-up lot... Seriously though, everyone did their bit and Brian Mac was most happy with the haul of worms from under the mats for his fishing. He had Brian Benson and Eric to thank for those (Brian, I hope I have your stamina if I get to my 80's ?). All mats now stored away nice and tidy and covered over ready for next year, that was day 1 of the autumn renovation done.
