Outing to Tunbridge Wells (16th May)

The day didn't start particularly well... There was a serious accident on the A127 which delayed several people and the coach and so we didn't get going until just before 10am. The coach ride to Tunbridge Wells was nice and easy and the driver dropped us at the Pantiles where we had a walk and then split up into various hostelries for some lunch. Back to the coach we went at 1pm then the coach got stuck as it couldn't go up the narrow roads to the bowling green. Pat had to call the club to have someone come to the coach and guide us through an alternative route to the venue.

We had a lovely welcome at The Grove and enjoyed a lovely afternoon playing 18 ends of triples. We stopped after 9 ends for tea, at which we were treated to homemade sausages rolls and a cream-tea. The club were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and we thank them very much for their hospitality. We had a lovely day, below are a few photo's taken by Karen.
