Barbara Titmus R.I.P.

On Sunday 28th January our friend and fellow bowler Barbara Titmus passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter Carol-Ann at her side.

Barbara had several spells of hospitalisation over the past few years but never was fully well again before the hospital would discharge her, relapsing as a result, and being re-admitted again. Despite her pain and frustration she never complained and just 'got on with it'.

It was ill-health that stopped Barbara from playing bowls and, eventually, from coming to the club, but she never lost her interest in St Chads or the will to come back once well again. Tragically, that was never to be anymore.

You could not hope to meet a nicer lady than Barbara, she was always ready to help if she could and she will be sorely missed, not least for her cheeky chuckle and a desire to help you in any way she could.

Later that day, Sharon Torr made a request to local radio station Time107.5FM to play Nat King Cole's record "Unforgettable", in remembrance of Barbara. This sums Barbara up in one word, she really was unforgettable.

Details of her funeral will be communicated to members when known.

R.I.P. Barbara.
